Professional сareer: 

He graduated from the Kharkov State University with honors in 1976. He worked as a research scientist at the Laboratory of Radio-Holography at the above university from 1976 to 1980. He received his Ph. D. degree in Radio Physics in 1985 and D.Sc. degree in 1995 from the same university. Since 1990, he has been a senior lecturer, D.Sc. research fellow, and, since 1997 till now, Professor of the Chair of Theoretical Radiophysics at the Kharkov National University (former Kharkov State University).

Research interests: 
  •   Inverse scattering problems for multilayered penetrable objects, and signal processing in remote and subsurface sensing with particular emphasis on the methods for image computing and processing for biomedical applications.
  • Ground penetrating radar (GPR) and ultra wideband signals (UWB) technique for pavement profiling  (in road and highway pavements), layer thickness and permittivity of asphalt and concrete  estimation, distress detecting by using an inverse scattering approach.
  •  Also he works in the theory of diffraction, wave propagation, and polarimetric methods relating to the wave scattering problems, particularly by the objects with impedance surface situated in free space or embedded into multilayered structure.
